LIA-EFES Workshop
"Low-energy collective excitations in exotic nuclei"
2-4 March, GANIL
Recent years have witnessed swift advances in our understanding of the structure of exotic nuclei as the ratio of neutron over proton numbers is becoming more extreme. We believe that there is a clear role to be played in the physics of exotic nuclei by collective models, aiming for a more comprehensive description of nuclear properties, including phenomena such as prolate-oblate coexistence, gamma-soft behaviour, etc. The aim of the workshop is therefore to discuss possible developments of various models and theories on the structure of heavier exotic nuclei, which will become a frontier of the next generation of radioactive-ion beams.
